Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, promised investors that the business would provide its language models.

On the call on Thursday, he said that the corporation is working on “the most deep technology,” which is AI.

Google wants to demonstrate that it is still “AI-first” in the company.

Sundar Pichai, its CEO, stated to investors on Thursday that the business is working on “the most profound technology”: AI. Many years after he mentioned Google being an AI-first corporation, he made these remarks.

Pichai stated on Thursday that the tech giant intended to make its language models accessible for people to “engage directly” with, starting with Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA).

He predicted that people will soon be able to directly interact with our newest, most powerful language model as a companion to Search in novel and exploratory ways.

In November, OpenAI unveiled ChatGPT, a chatbot built on a substantial language model. A widespread interest in generative AI was generated by the chatbot, which immediately went viral.

The debut of the OpenAI chatbot in December prompted a “code red” from Google management, according to The New York Times.

Proud that @googlecloud is providing open infrastructure for the next generation of AI startups. Our new partnership with @AnthropicAI will help them take the power of our large-scale TPUs and GPUs to accelerate safe, cutting-edge AI development. https://t.co/TT09WOUgKs

According to reports, Microsoft, an investor in OpenAI, intends to introduce a new version of Bing that combines ChatGPT’s technology. According to The Information, the function, which attempts to provide consumers answers to some inquiries rather than merely showing related links, may become available by the end of March.

This year, Google apparently aims to test a Google Search version with AI chatbot characteristics.

Employees of Google are also testing ChatGPT’s possible rivals. According to individuals and internal communications reviewed by the outlet, the “Apprentice Bard” bot employs Google’s LaMDA technology, according to CNBC.

Outside of regular business hours, Insider contacted Google but received no response.
